About Me
Perfectly Imperfect
I am not a retired Doctor, Surgeon, Award winning journalist, Olympic Athlete, etc. but I’ve lived my life as well as I could. I am married and have raised 3 children who are intelligent and kind contributing members of society.
After taking early retirement (Freedom 55, Hooray!), I thought so now what?
So, Now What?
Oh sure, the first few weeks were great. I slept in till ‘whenever the heck o’clock’ and it was fabulous. I still did have those nightmares where I dreamt I was either late for work or I arrived in time only to find I was still wearing my “Dora the Explorer” pajamas and bunny slippers. Awkward!
Then I settled in to a routine of sorts but there was still a nagging feeling I was missing something. Should get a University Degree? Learn a new language? Become a world famous heart surgeon? Ok, the last one is impossible I know. Even if I could pass all the schooling I’d be at least 100+ years old when all is said and done! Would you really like to have a surgeon with shaky hands, poor eyesight and in a wheelchair? Calling Dr. Vogel! Calling Dr. Vogel! Emergency in the ER!

A Lifetime of Stories To Tell
I needed a creative outlet to fill my time. Then I heard about blogging. I had some idea of what it entailed but I needed the encouragement and assistance of my daughter who is a Graphic Artist/Website Designer to help me start my journey. My two sons know computers inside and out and were also very helpful in pushing me to create this blog. Thank you all! I realized as a retiree I had a lifetime of personal experiences, stories and sage advice that if nothing else would be a “diary” of sorts for my children.
These stories and opinions are mine and based solely on what I have experienced during the past 6 decades. I may have taken some creative license wherever possible. Life is short so try to find the amusement in every day. Laugh often and well.
Thanks for stopping by,
